“The beauty of faith-filled people encompasses me, they are true and my heart is filled with joy.”
Jerry and Holly have been long-time heroes and mentors to me. When my husband was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor 3 years into our marriage, Jerry and Holly took us under their wing and encouraged us in ways that have transformed my view of life, suffering, and the love of God. When my husband died 3 years later, and I found myself as a widow with a 2-year-old and 4-year-old, Jerry and Holly continued to speak truth and life in me in a way that infused me with courage and hope.
More recently, I found myself in a season of experiencing some heartbreaking betrayal from a friend. As I turned to Jerry and Holly for wisdom and counsel, they invited me to come to their Colorado home for a “reset”.
I had no idea how much I needed not only to be with them but also to be in their setting of beauty and hope.
As I woke each morning to views of snow-capped mountains, spent time listening to their years of experience and counsel, and even enjoyed an ATV ride up a mountain, I received goodness, truth, and beauty in a way that restored my soul.
Hosea 11:4 says “ I led them with cords of kindness and ties of love…”
How grateful I am that God’s cords of kindness led me to Jerry and Holly and their beautiful Colorado retreat home.
